The SAVIOR of the WORLD!
Jesus is the Son of the Living God! Jesus was sent down from heaven to save us from our sins and give us life! “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 4:16). Without Jesus we are dead in our sins (Colossians 2:13-15) But God! “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).
How Did Jesus Forgive Sin?
Jesus came down from heaven and was born a man (Matthew 1). He lived a sinless life and died on the cross for our sins (1 Peter 3:18; 1 Corinthians 5:21). Three days later, it was witnessed by many, that He rose again and freed us from the bondage of sin! (1 Corinthians 15:3-8). And now we can have eternal life with Him in heaven! (John 3:16). After we die, we are assured that if we are saved, we will be in heaven forever! (John 10:28-29). However, if we do not receive Jesus into our hearts before we die, we will be separated from God for eternity and will pay the full penalty of our sin (2 Thessalonians 1:7-9).
You may wonder if there is another way to heaven through a different belief system or religion or by being a good person, but Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 4:16) and the Bible says that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God!” (Romans 3:23).
Why Did He Forgive Sin?
Jesus died on the cross for us because he loved us! “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). This was always God’s plan. In the beginning, before the world was created, there was only God (Genesis 1). He created everything: the universe, our world, plants, animals, and us! (Genesis 1). Soon after people were created, the first man and woman sinned against God and immediately God began revealing His plan for salvation (Genesis 3). God never intended for us to go through pain, live in a fallen world, or die. He created a world that He said was good (Genesis 1). We chose to bring sin into the world, but God knew what we would choose and made a way through His Son Jesus Christ to save us from our sin.
How Do I Receive Jesus as My Lord and Savior?
The Bible says in Romans 10:9-10, “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation”. Jesus has made it so simple, all you have to do is believe in your heart and say with your mouth “Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God, the only God. Thank you for dying on the cross for me. I know I am a sinner, please forgive me and remove all of my sins. Come into my heart and change me. Thank you for giving me eternal life with you!” If you genuinely meant this prayer, you are saved! Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Your salvation is a free gift from your Creator and Savior! He loves you and all of heaven is rejoicing right now that you have come to believe in Jesus! “I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents” (Luke 15:7). I Have Accepted Jesus into My Heart, But What Do I Do Now?
Know that you are saved! And now Jesus wants to create something completely new and beautiful in your life! “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Start reading the Bible immediately! It is God’s Word to you! He wants to have a personal relationship with you! If you seek Him, you will find Him! (Jeremiah 29:13). Find a church and meet your brothers and sisters in Jesus! “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers (Acts 2:42). We are gifted with the ability to be together and support and help each other! All Christians need each other! “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12).
​Through attending a local church, you will not only have an eternal family, but you will also grow in your relationship with Jesus!
You do not have to attend a Calvary Chapel to be in a God-filled church, however we recommend Calvary Chapels because they teach through the entire Bible, word for word. We want you to be equipped with teaching from the whole Bible to be able to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18) and to be equipped to share the whole Word of God with others!
